About The Position

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at HCA Healthcare is responsible for providing leadership and direction for nursing practice, education, and patient care activities across the organization. This role emphasizes employee engagement, quality patient care, and operational efficiency, while also promoting a culture of safety and fiscal responsibility. The CNO collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance patient outcomes and ensure effective communication within the nursing staff and leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's degree in nursing or another appropriate postgraduate health science degree required, or proof of enrollment with a written plan for completion.
  • 5+ years of experience in management and supervisory nursing roles, with at least 3 years in a direct leadership role in a hospital setting or direct patient care environment required.
  • Current Registered Nurse license without restrictions required.

Responsibilities

  • Strategize and drive process improvements for innovative care delivery and operational models.
  • Promote the use and implementation of technology to streamline operations and optimize work processes.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to implement programs, policies, and procedures for patient care.
  • Serve as a member of the executive leadership team, building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with the hospital's governing body and senior leadership in decision-making processes.
  • Promote relationships with community organizations to improve patient outcomes.
  • Establish mechanisms for shared governance and decision-making among nurses.
  • Ensure bi-directional communication between nurses at the bedside and the leadership team.
