About The Position

The position oversees the development and implementation of the site nursing operations plan, including staffing resource requirements, care models, workflows and throughput, equipment, and technology in alignment with the site and system nursing strategy. The role is responsible for nursing clinical quality performance, team member engagement in areas of accountability, and patient experience. It promotes a culture of safety and high reliability behaviors and commits to continuous quality improvement. In partnership with the site CMO and quality leaders, the position monitors performance to clinical quality targets and develops plans to address gaps using rigorous quality improvement methods and resources. The role involves sharing nursing results with board members, developing short- and long-term strategic plans, and ensuring nursing strategies align with patient service area and system strategies. It also includes leveraging health care technology to optimize nursing practice and leading to an environment of clinical excellence and two-way communication with clinical nurses. The position supports interprofessional, team-based improvement initiatives and strives to maintain or work towards Magnet status. Additionally, it involves human resources responsibilities, budget management, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to nursing services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and Master's Degree in any field OR Bachelor's Degree in any field with a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN).
  • Typically requires 15 years of experience in nursing and health care administration.
  • 5 plus years of management experience in management of staff and budgets.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
