About The Position

The Director of Nursing provides statewide leadership for all nursing services, overseeing strategic planning, staffing, education, compliance, quality improvement, and policy development. The role directs nursing operations across all facilities, manages nursing leadership teams, ensures staff competency, and drives initiatives that improve patient care, communication, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and seven years of nursing experience, including five years of experience in a Nurse Supervisor capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of the statewide Nursing Strategic Plan.
  • Establishes staffing standards, oversees recruitment and retention, and ensures appropriate staffing levels across all facilities.
  • Directs nursing education, competency programs, and ongoing staff development to ensure qualified and skilled nursing personnel.
  • Oversees quality assurance, performance improvement initiatives, and compliance with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and maintains nursing policies, procedures, and clinical protocols while facilitating communication across nursing and Health Services leadership teams..
