About The Position

Acadia Healthcare is a leading provider of behavioral healthcare services across the United States, operating a network of over 253 facilities with approximately 11,200 beds. The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Ohio Hospital For Psychiatry will play a crucial role in directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising nursing and the delivery of behavioral health services. This position requires a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers and nursing staff. The CNO will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure that all residents' needs are met and will be supported by corporate resources and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing or mental health nursing strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or commensurate experience required.
  • 10+ years RN experience preferred.
  • 6 years RN experience required.
  • Nursing leadership experience in a freestanding psychiatric hospital strongly preferred.
  • Prior CNO/DON experience strongly preferred.
  • 2 years behavioral health experience as an RN in an inpatient psychiatric setting required.
  • 3 years of progressive nursing management or administrative nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision for nursing practice in the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams and administration to address residents' needs and resolve complaints.
  • Direct, supervise, and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel.
  • Provide clinical leadership and strategic goals for the nursing staff.
  • Manage changes in census and acuity, allocating nursing resources accordingly.
  • Role model customer service expectations and prioritize patient safety.
  • Determine, assign, and assess performance objectives for the nursing department.
  • Organize and review policies, procedures, and nursing protocols to meet regulatory standards.
  • Ensure quality of care and operational efficiency of the nursing department.
  • Lead and develop nursing staff, providing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Set and implement policies, goals, and procedures for the department.
  • Evaluate quality of care and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and oversee departmental budget and reporting.
  • Manage staff hiring, development, training, and performance management.
  • Provide direct care as needed.
