About The Position

The Primary Care Division Manager (Nurse IV Chief Nurse for Primary Care) provides leadership and direct supervision for Nurse Managers and Administrative Supervisors working in the following programs: Primary Care at the Milwaukee VA and Union Grove/Oconomowoc clinics; Compensation & Pension; Whole Health; and Employee Health. This leadership role reports directly to the Chief of Staff, and is responsible for daily operations of these programs/clinics. The Primary Care Division Manager (Nurse IV Chief Nurse for Primary Care) functions as an advisor, administrator, educator, consultant, and mentor who possesses a wide range of experience and leadership ability. The individual provides senior leadership and oversight for daily clinical and administrative operations for nursing within the Primary Care Division, and is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing, controlling and refining a comprehensive patient management/clinical support/administrative program. The Division Manager provides services and technical counsel necessary to meet clinical, procedural, legal and administrative requirements relating to the care and treatment of Veterans across multiple clinical locations. The individual is expected to achieve maximum utilization of patient care resources in a cost effective, efficient and timely manner. The Primary Care Division Manager collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including other program and service leaders at the facility and network. They work closely to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of Veteran Affairs (VA) staff nationwide. The leader collaborates to develop goals and objectives that support the organization's strategic plan, meets the needs of the Veteran, and results in positive clinical and administrative outcomes. The Division Manager enters actively into major policy decisions of personnel, budget, position management, public and community relations, program and organizational changes, patient care, and distribution and optimization of facility resources. The individual serves as a member of numerous Medical Center Councils and Committees, as well as time-limited task forces, VISN Councils and Committees, and potentially national workgroups. The Primary Care Division Manager plays an essential role as part of the Chief of Staff clinical leadership team and is a key member of the organization's leadership team to ensure safe, timely and high quality care is provided to Veteran's in Primary Care, Whole Health, Compensation & Pension and for prospective/current employees through Employee Occupational Health.

Requirements

  • Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
