About The Position

The University of Miami UHealth Department of Imaging Services has an exciting opportunity for a Chief MRI Technologist at The Griffin Cancer Research Building (GCRB) in Miami. Covering the second shift, 11:30am to 8:00pm. The incumbent maintains responsibility for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring efficient workflow of the section; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations, department/hospital policies and procedures, objectives and philosophy. The Chief MRI Technologist is accountable for the efficient patient throughout and 24-hr supervisory responsibility of department and of all departmental staff member's scheduling, technical guidance and performance improvement. The Chief MRI Technologist performs diagnostic/job functions as required of a MRI Technologist at a level that will require no supervision of technical details.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Valid State of Florida General Radiographer license required
  • Performance Management: Ability to set performance goals, provide feedback, conduct evaluations, and effectively delegate tasks.
  • Training & Development: Providing employee training and motivation to enhance skills.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.

Responsibilities

  • PERFORMS ALL DUTIES OF TECH 1, 2,& 3
  • Performs all duties of Level I & II technologist.
  • Supervises imaging services, including performance or supervision of tests, and daily management of assigned personnel.
  • Assists in compilation of statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.
  • Contributions to the preparation of the annual departmental budget and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Responsible for hire, discipline, and promotion of department staff.
  • Obtains and examines the diagnostic orders for appropriateness to the type of exam ordered and any special notes or comments.
  • Coordinate/manage scheduling and patient flow for interdepartmental procedures.
  • Collaborates in the development of in-service training for departmental staff.
  • Completes yearly performance appraisals for the staff and handles requests for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
