About The Position

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Williamsport, PA, is seeking a Chief Medical Physicist to join our progressive and technologically advanced facility. This role involves leading a dynamic team in a cutting-edge cancer center, providing guidance and leadership to a dedicated team, including one physicist and two dosimetrists. The Chief Medical Physicist will work with state-of-the-art equipment and techniques such as IMRT, IGRT, SRS, SBRT with CBCT/OBI, 4D CT, and organ motion management. The position also includes overseeing all clinical medical physics services, ensuring compliance with radiation safety and regulatory requirements, and offering numerous opportunities for professional development and collaboration within a network of 26 cancer centers.

Requirements

• A Master's or PhD degree in Medical Physics
• Five (5) years of clinical experience is required.
• American Board of Radiology in Radiation Therapy Physics or Radiological Physics certification
• Must meet qualified expert criteria defined by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State radiation agency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all aspects of radiation therapy physics, ensuring high-quality patient care.
• Perform calibration, commissioning, and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.
• Maintain rigorous quality assurance programs for equipment and treatment delivery.
• Ensure compliance with NRC and state regulations, as well as ACRO and AAPM guidelines.
• Lead and mentor the physics team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
