About The Position

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Williamsport, PA, is seeking a Chief Medical Physicist to join our progressive and technologically advanced facility. This role involves leading a dynamic team in a cutting-edge cancer center, providing guidance and leadership to a dedicated team, including one physicist and two dosimetrists. The Chief Medical Physicist will work with state-of-the-art equipment and techniques such as IMRT, IGRT, SRS, SBRT with CBCT/OBI, 4D CT, and organ motion management. The position also offers numerous opportunities for professional development and collaboration within a network of 26 cancer centers.

Requirements

• A Master's or PhD degree in Medical Physics
• Five (5) years of clinical experience is required.
• American Board of Radiology in Radiation Therapy Physics or Radiological Physics certification
• Must meet qualified expert criteria defined by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State radiation agency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all aspects of radiation therapy physics, ensuring high-quality patient care.
• Perform calibration, commissioning, and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.
• Maintain rigorous quality assurance programs for equipment and treatment delivery.
• Ensure compliance with NRC and state regulations, as well as ACRO and AAPM guidelines.
• Lead and mentor the physics team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
