About The Position

American Senior Communities is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Chief Medical Officer to join their multi-facility, long-term care organization as they expand and mature their Institutional Special Needs Plan (ISNP) and value-based care strategy. This is a high-impact executive role for a physician leader who is energized by population health, risk-based models, and integrated care delivery. The CMO will partner closely with executive leadership, operations, and clinical teams to drive initiatives that improve quality, outcomes, and performance across the enterprise. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of long-term care within a value-based framework and to make a meaningful impact on the care of a large, medically complex population. Requirements

  • MD or DO required
  • Prior leadership experience in long-term care, post-acute, managed care, or complex populations.
  • Proven ability to lead at scale and collaborate across clinical and operational teams.

Nice To Haves

  • board certification preferred.
  • Experience with ISNPs, Medicare Advantage, or value-based care strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Medical Leadership for ISNP and value-based care initiatives.
  • Driving quality improvement, utilization management, and outcomes optimization.
  • Aligning and leading Medical Directors and physician partners.
  • Integrating medical strategy with operational and clinical care models.
  • Advancing evidence-based clinical initiatives across long-term and post-acute settings.
