Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance the Chief Inspector is responsible for administering the inspection, quality assurance and quality control of aircraft maintenance provided by the Repair Station. Supports DOM in the management and direction of activities of employees engaged in the inspection, repair and overhaul of aircraft and aircraft accessories. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Manages and coordinates functions of the Quality Control Department ensuring that all work performed complies with applicable technical data FAA regulations and Repair Station Manual (RSM) and Quality Control Manual (QCM) and that the technical data and procedure manuals are reviewed current and available. Responsible for all activities of Inspection personnel, final inspection checklist, designated inspectors program and rosters, and all receiving inspections. Ensures that all inspections are properly performed and that the proper inspection records reports and forms used by the repair station are properly executed prior to the release of the aircraft for return to service. Possesses and applies complete working knowledge of company RSM procedures and FAA Regulations. Ensure that determinations concerning major alterations/repairs are accomplished as delineated in the RSM. Responsible for the content, quality and execution of the Parts and Material Control process. Ensures that rejected, unserviceable and scrap parts are handled properly to prevent their reuse as serviceable parts. Ensures that the Technical Library is maintained in accordance with the QCM, RSM and all customer requirements. Ensures that Precision Tools and Test Equipment are properly calibrated, set calibration intervals, and that Company’s Calibration Records are kept current. Act in accordance with RSM/QCM for reporting requirements and FAA Inspections. Ensures that aircraft and operation records are maintained in accordance with FAA regulations and Company procedures. Instructs assigned personnel in all applicable safety regulations; monitors to ensure compliance. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of new aircraft systems, methods, and maintenance equipment. Performs activities of workers supervised. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises Inspection Department and assists in managing the activities of employees engaged in the inspection, repair and overhaul of aircraft and aircraft accessories. Carries out supervisory/management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
