About The Position

Keville Enterprises Inc., an established Construction Management Consulting & Inspection firm, is seeking a full-time Chief inspector I to join our team in Rocky Hill, CT. Requirements

  • A NICET HCI Level 4, PE, CCM, or EIT
  • 5 years of general construction experience, to include 4 years' experience in Field Inspection and 2 years' experience in a Supervisory position is required
  • Candidates must be fully proficient in the use of computers including MS Word, Excel and construction reporting/quantity tracking software
  • Candidates must have effective written and oral communication skills, be eager to learn, willing to perform a variety of tasks and be a team player
  • Employees assigned to driving duties ("drivers") must have a current, valid US State driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Keville's driving policy
  • OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment
  • Daily on-site presence is required, with occasional evening or weekend work during critical project phases or to meet project deadlines
  • knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, strong communication skills, documentation control, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and to perform quantity takeoffs/calculations

Nice To Haves

  • Other certifications including NACE Coatings Inspection; ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor; NETTCP HMA Inspector, NETTCP Concrete Inspector, NETTCP QA Tech, Soils and Concrete, ACI Technician and AWS/CWI are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • overseeing daily construction operations
  • ensuring contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and contractual requirements
  • managing inspection staff
  • reviewing and delivering daily inspection reports
  • monitoring contractor performance, schedule adherence, and overall responsiveness
  • work closely with contractors to maintain project goals related to cost, schedule, and quality while also serving as a liaison to design staff to address RFIs, review shop drawings, and assess project changes for constructability
  • oversee the office staff responsible for record-keeping, correspondence, and reporting, as well as managing the contractor payment process, recommending adjustments as necessary
  • Ensuring overall site safety, permit compliance, and coordination with agencies and stakeholders
