About The Position

Flock Safety is seeking a self-motivated, experienced, and tech-savvy individual to lead the growing Information Security team. This role will support the company's growth and serve a key role in building and scaling the Information Security team. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve the effectiveness of the Information Security team and will report to the Chief Legal Officer. Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to assess and manage security risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and deploying innovative security management techniques. The role also involves establishing relationships with law enforcement and government entities, engaging with executive leadership, and managing team capacity and budget.

Requirements

  • 10+ years relevant leadership experience, ideally as Head of Security or Chief Information Security Officer.
  • Experience in building and scaling a well-rounded security program using recognized industry frameworks.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and an enabler’s mindset.
  • Experience in managing cybersecurity incidents and data breaches.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating with physical security personnel.
  • Experience in representing the company publicly in security posture and vulnerability discussions.
  • Extensive knowledge in zero trust architectures and safeguards to mitigate risks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of FBI’s CJIS Guidelines and relevant regulations.
  • Expertise in securing cloud-based service offerings hosted in AWS.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across the Enterprise.
  • High integrity, impeccable judgment, and calm performance under pressure.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP or CISM.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the development and implementation of an effective strategy to assess and manage security risks.
  • Manage crises and incidents, validate the maintenance of departmental continuity of operations.
  • Safeguard Flock’s intellectual property, trade secrets, sensitive data, and critical business processes.
  • Hire and/or develop staff to implement and maintain security processes, standards, and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulatory requirements pertaining to privacy and data protection.
  • Deploy state-of-the-art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques.
  • Establish, validate, monitor, and maintain appropriate standards and associated risk controls.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high-level officials in law enforcement and government entities.
  • Engage with executive leadership and board of directors to create visibility into relevant security topics.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure changes do not disrupt Flock’s security ecosystem.
  • Enable the revenue organization by responding to security needs of customers.
  • Report key metrics demonstrating the effectiveness of the program to stakeholders.
  • Manage team capacity, budget, and resource allocation.
