About The Position

LifeStream is a behavioral health and social services organization that provides high-quality treatment, education, care management, rehabilitation, child welfare, primary care and homeless services to children, adolescents, and adults. Located in Central Florida, LifeStream primarily serves the residents of Lake, Citrus and Sumter Counties, with additional programs located in Orange, Marion, Hernando counties. The Chief Hospital Officer (CHO) is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the hospital and advising on policy implementation across all departments. They report directly to the CEO and provide valuable insight that informs a CEO's final decision. The duties can change based on the need but in addition to overseeing daily operations consist of: connecting hospital department leaders regularly to ensure practices are consistent throughout the organization and decipher needs related to staff or resources, meeting with stakeholders to discuss operations and future opportunities, ensuring quality patient care is provided, coordinating department operations so that each department works well independently and as a collective institution, managing the hospital's daily financial operations, and advising staffing procedures.

Requirements

  • Master's level degree required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years post graduate experience as a program or administrative services manager.
  • Experience in financial management, business development, program planning, process improvements and contract negotiations.
  • Good working knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes and regulations pertaining to acute care services.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Center's Strategic Plan, its program directives and goals.
  • Excellent working knowledge of behavioral healthcare standards.
  • Ability to provide immediate direction in crisis situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate level degree preferred.
  • Board Certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the implementation, integration and coordination of assigned Center's acute care services.
  • Provides direct supervision to the Center's Program AVPs/Directors/Managers/Supervisors.
  • Connects hospital department leaders regularly to ensure consistent practices.
  • Meets with stakeholders to discuss operations and future opportunities.
  • Ensures quality patient care is provided.
  • Coordinates department operations for independent and collective functioning.
  • Manages the hospital's daily financial operations.
  • Advises on staffing procedures.
  • Directs scope of clinical and administrative service provision.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership team to meet patient demands and budget constraints.
  • Conceptualizes service delivery for acute care services and continuum of care.
  • Establishes goals and engages in improving program outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Interviews and hires providers; negotiates contracts.
  • Orchestrates and implements new business strategies while maintaining budgetary guidelines.
