About The Position

Blue Yonder Defense Systems (BYDS), a Blue Yonder company, is a leader in autonomous supply chain planning, digital control towers, and the Digital Supply Chain Network™ supporting mission-critical operations across the defense ecosystem. BYDS is seeking a Chief Financial Officer and strategic partner to the CEO of Blue Yonder Defense Systems. This role will provide executive leadership across financial strategy, government compliance, operational finance, and long-term growth planning within a highly regulated federal contracting environment. The CFO, will lead the financial architecture of BYDS as a Mitigated entity operating under an Affiliated Operations Plan with Blue Yonder, Inc., ensuring financial integrity while enabling business growth and strategic autonomy. This executive will partner closely with the BYDS CEO, Blue Yonder Corporate Finance, and senior business leaders to drive financial performance, capital allocation decisions, regulatory compliance, and operational scalability. The ideal candidate combines deep government contracting expertise with strategic financial leadership, enabling the organization to operate with speed, discipline, and compliance in support of national security missions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 20+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including executive-level roles.
  • Significant experience in government contracting and defense sector finance.
  • Deep expertise in FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA compliance frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Proven experience managing indirect rate models, government audits, and contract financial management.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs and executive leadership teams.
  • Strong track record of building and leading high-performing finance organizations.
  • Experience working in complex, regulated environments with global corporate governance structures.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive presence.

  • MBA or Master’s in Finance strongly preferred.
  • CPA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership Serve as the primary financial advisor to the CEO and the Board of Directors of Blue Yonder Defense Systems, shaping financial strategy, growth plans, and enterprise decision-making.
  • Lead the development and execution of long-term financial strategy, investment priorities, and capital allocation to support BYDS growth and profitability.
  • Provide financial insights to guide strategic initiatives, product investments, pricing strategies, and expansion into new defense markets.
  • Partner with Blue Yonder corporate finance leadership to ensure alignment with enterprise financial policies and governance frameworks while maintaining compliance with mitigation requirements.
  • Government Contracting Finance Strategy Provide executive oversight for compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Establish and oversee the financial compliance architecture required for operating in a government contracting environment.
  • Lead executive engagement with government oversight bodies including Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and other regulatory entities.
  • Oversee development and governance of indirect rate structures (G&A, Overhead, Fringe) including negotiations with regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure financial processes support successful contract execution, proposal development, and regulatory compliance across the defense portfolio.
  • Financial Planning, Performance, and Operational Finance Lead enterprise financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial modeling for BYDS.
  • Establish performance management frameworks to drive financial discipline, transparency, and operational accountability.
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor financial performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve margins, optimize cost structures, and scale operations efficiently.
  • Ensure effective management of working capital, liquidity, and financial risk.
  • Executive Business Partnership Partner with executive leadership to evaluate strategic opportunities including new programs, partnerships, and acquisitions.
  • Provide financial leadership on government RFP responses, pricing strategies, and cost proposal development.
  • Advise senior leadership on complex accounting, financial, and regulatory matters, including cost accounting standards and technical accounting positions.
  • Support the CEO in Board-level and executive presentations, providing financial insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Compliance, Controls, and Audit Oversight Establish and maintain robust financial controls, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance structures.
  • Oversee preparation and response to external audits, DCAA reviews, incurred cost submissions, and proposal audits.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, government accounting requirements, and internal corporate finance policies.
  • Identify and communicate potential compliance risks or financial exposures to executive leadership.
  • Partner with Blue Yonder and external advisors in the development of internal controls over financial reporting in preparation for U.S. SOX Organizational Leadership and Capability Building
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting organization capable of supporting the rapid growth of the BYDS business.
  • Develop scalable financial processes, systems, and reporting frameworks to support operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across finance and cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with Blue Yonder corporate teams where appropriate while maintaining compliance with mitigation requirements.
