About The Position

The Coahoma County School District is conducting a search for a Chief Financial Officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
  • Valid School Business Administrator/Officer Certification
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in district/school finance or accounting
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
  • Transcripts are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a School/District Business Manager/Officer preferred
  • Strong background in non-profit or governmental accounting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervises financial affairs of the district
  • Budget planning, development, and implementation
  • Perform accurate accounting practices, including reconciliation of all bank accounts
  • Supervise and coordinates the collection and distribution of all state and federal funds
  • Supervise payroll procedures
  • Develops short and long-term financial planning to support a healthy district fund balance
  • Advises the Superintendent on all financial matters of the district
  • Acts as purchasing agent for the district
  • Directs internal auditing of all accounts
  • Supervise MSIS Personnel reporting for accuracy
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent
