About The Position

The Chief Financial Officer, Global Oncology Business Unit (OBU) will be accountable for understanding the company's goals and how to achieve them through value creation. In this role you will partner with other functional areas, this position requires a broad understanding of the business requirements combined with a working model to develop and implement solutions. In this role you will need to understand financial modeling techniques that analyze key business variables and provide meaningful information. Examples include price/volume, product line profitability, and wholesaler/chain pricing. Understanding and applying various financial valuation principles including net present value, discount rate, return on investment, and decision tree analysis will be key. A strong aptitude of technical skills such as the following will be important to succeed in this role: GAAP, IFRS, SOX, J-SOX Internal control requirements, operating guidelines Tax Issues.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or MS in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements affecting other stakeholders.
  • Experience working with all levels and disciplines of people within a large organization.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of all aspects of financial management - budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
  • Strong experience in creation of business plans, strategic and long-term plans, and acquisition management.
  • Management and process experience connected to M&A (integration, post-merger monitoring).
  • Business oriented decision maker with strong management and analytical skills.
  • Ability to deliver in fast paced and evolving surroundings and with short deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the Executive Management team as a direct report to the President, Global Oncology (OBU), with a matrixed reporting relationship to the Global CFO.
  • Assumes a strategic role in the overall financial management of the company.
  • Financial responsibility in planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities for the OBU.
  • Direct responsibility for financial planning, accounting & reporting, strategic planning, deal analysis and investor relationships.
  • Responsibility for all reporting, internal controls, Sox and J-Sox and audit aspects of the OBU.
  • Anticipate business risks, assess their impact on the ability to achieve company goals, develop action plans, and ensure solutions have been realized.
  • Assume full responsibility for the review of all analyses prepared by the direct and indirect staff.
  • Play a strong role in identifying opportunities for profit improvement and maximizing return on investment.
  • Lead the business with confidence and passion, and continually reinforce company values and culture.
  • Maintain effective internal communications, foster teamwork, and be a constant source of inspiration and strong leadership to the organization.
  • Lead a function of Financial Planning, monthly Close and Managerial Reporting, Revenue Controlling, and Contracts & Pricing.
  • Establish and maintain country and Brand P&Ls, capturing all relevant expenses and revenues across the business.
  • Global, multi country responsibility managing local teams with various business dynamics.
  • Ensure that budgets and expenditures are aligned with OBU's strategy.
  • Oversee all financial reporting and any finance-related communications with other divisions within Takeda.
  • Drive Global OBU to track, meet, or exceed all finance related KPIs.
  • Collaborate with other business units and corporate functions on key initiatives.
  • Lead, direct, and follow through on increasing cross-functional collaboration and alignment.
  • Work closely with each direct report to ensure sound strategic thinking, accurate forecasting, and commitment to results.
  • Foster a high-performance business environment with clear accountability for delivering results.
