About The Position

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you are responsible for managing accounting, finance, and facilities for Prisma Community Care. In addition to providing guidance and leadership in the areas of finance, you are directly responsible for (a) managing cash flow; (b) weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting tasks; (c) coordinating reimbursement requests to federal, state and county funders; (d) serving as the audit liaison; (e) serving as the liaison to the Treasurer and Finance Committee; (f) managing facilities and (g) implementing finance office process and technology improvements. In this role, you'll manage the Accounting Manager, Director of Facilities & IT, and the Senior Grants & Contract Manager. In this role, you'll support the Prisma Community Care mission of providing affirming and inclusive services to promote well-being and advance health equity for diverse communities and all those seeking compassionate care - especially people of color, 2SLGBTQIA+ and Queer individuals, and those affected by HIV. What your day will look like at Prisma Community Care: Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements, including reforecasting, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Prepare and update the cash flow forecast. Responsible for timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reports to management and Board of Directors. Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, medical billing, deposits and reconciliations. Track data and provide financial analyses, including operating costs, trends, etc., of all organization operations. Oversee preparation of the annual financial audit, single audit and Form 990. Ensure compliance with all policies, performance standards and internal controls relating to accounting/legal, cash management, and investments as well as all federal, state and local regulations. Act as staff liaison to the Treasurer and Finance/Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Work with the Finance Committee to monitor cash flow and investments and ensure adequate coverage for financial needs. Prepare any other financial reports as requested by the CEO. Supervise all accounting personnel and contractors. Monitor all necessary regulations concerning 501(c)(3) status. Identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial and operational risks to safeguard the organization’s assets. Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives, capital projects, funding opportunities, and long-term sustainability. Provide scenario analysis and data-driven insights to guide decision-making. Administrative/ Facilities Recommend, develop, and implement improved methods and procedures for organization-wide operations, internal controls, performance standards, and metrics. Maintain all fiscal and HR historical records. Ensure procedures are followed for the purchasing function and inventory control. Manage organization and building insurance policies, claims and procedures. Oversee building operations and needs. Grants Oversee the fiscal relationships with government, foundation, and other funders. Oversee the strategy and planning of grant cycles to ensure the flow of funding. Provide oversight of grant budgets and applications. Additional Projects Ensure internal controls have been implemented to prevent the significant deficiencies and material weaknesses in the audit. Finalize and implement financial policies and procedures manual.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other closely related degree.
  • You have a minimum five years’ professional experience in non-profit finance.
  • You have administration, management, and supervision experience.
  • You have CFO experience at a nonprofit organization required to have a single audit (formerly known as an A-133 audit).
  • You have experience working with state, federal and county funders – to include documenting contract expense, time and effort, and reimbursement requests.
  • You have a high level proficiency with accounting software.
  • You have a high level proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • You've demonstrated the ability to establish rapport and maintain effective communication with culturally diverse populations from a wide range of life circumstances and backgrounds.

  • Currently have, or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment, a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card

  • Currently have, or are able to initiate within 7 days of employment, a TB test or screening.

Nice To Haves

  • You are a CPA or you have a Masters Degree in Accounting/ Finance.
  • You have experience with insurance billing.
