About The Position

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the strategic leader of Irvington Community Schools (ICS), ensuring the organization's financial health and stability, and educational programming and support services for students and staff. The CEO will serve as the organization's financial officer, managing all aspects of key fiscal and operational services. The CEO will collaborate with administrative staff to ensure instructional excellence, leadership development, and student achievement across all three campuses, while also ensuring the school's financial viability and strength. Additionally, the CEO will collaborate closely with OEI, the Board of Governors, and the school leadership team to advance ICS's mission with best practices in education. This role also acts as ICS's chief spokesperson, advocating for academic and organizational growth, overseeing HR functions and building external relations.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of demonstrated progressive success in business operations, financial stewardship, administration and operations management.
  • Excellent communication skills, stakeholder engagement skills, collaboration and partnership development.
  • Ability to work with large quantities of data and provide actionable information to school and district leaders.

  • Five or more years in school operations and state education compliance, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership and Vision Champion and uphold 'The Irvington Way' in all leadership decisions, ensuring mission-driven excellence across academics, culture, and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Governors to refine ICS's mission-driven objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead the leadership team in establishing academic priorities, student success benchmarks, and long-term strategic goals.
  • Serve as the primary external representative, advocating for ICS's academic vision and initiatives with authorizers, policymakers, and educational leaders.
  • Lead ICS's advancement strategy, securing funding, partnerships, and grants that enhance academic programming.
  • Accept leadership accountability for continuous improvement and implementation of the mission, vision, goals, values, and policies of Irvington Community Schools.
  • Ensure legal and ethical integrity in all Irvington Community Schools.
  • Fiscal Management and Stewardship Serve as the financial steward for ICS and manage all aspects of fiscal services, including budget development, research and planning, accounting, payroll, cash management, inventory control, purchasing, booking, financial reporting, other asset management, human resources, human capital logistics, support and management.
  • Academic Excellence - Collaboration with the Chief Academic Officer Supervise all staff who directly supervise, coach, and support school principals and key academic leaders in advancing instructional leadership.
  • Ensure fidelity of curriculum implementation, instructional strategies, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) across all schools.
  • Support the student academic growth and execution of ICS's High Ability Program, English Learner (ELL/ENL) services, Exceptional Children program and athletics, while also ensuring equitable access to programs, services and academic rigor.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement leadership training programs to build a robust pipeline of future school leaders.
  • Evaluate staff that oversees the administration and compliance of assessments, working closely with the school testing coordinators.
  • Data-Driven Accountability and Compliance Analyze student performance data and enrollment data to drive instructional improvements and inform financial and operational decisions.
  • Manage academic performance tracking systems, ensuring alignment with ICS's scorecard and strategic goals.
  • Present performance reports to the Board, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the liaison to legal counsel on academic and personnel matters, maintain strong relationship with charter authorizers.
  • Human Resources and Talent Development Supervise the Director of HR, ensuring efficient recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, and retention.
  • Support in handling personnel concerns, ensuring supportive community-focused policies and resolving key staffing issues.
  • Ensure HR policies, legal compliance, and employment practices aligned with ICS's mission.
