About The Position

Dartmouth Health is pleased to announce a national search for the Chief Executive Officer of Southwestern Vermont Health Care in Bennington, VT. Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) is seeking a dynamic and inspirational leader with a passionate commitment to community engagement. The successful candidate will be committed to the delivery of high quality, patient-centered healthcare and will bring a comprehensive understanding of fiscal operations and innovative resource management. A track record of accomplishing big goals, philanthropic success, and fostering sustainable growth is vital. The leader should be able to establish critical trust with SVHC's provider teams and be committed to developing a culture of belonging for patients and staff alike. The CEO of Southwestern Vermont Health Care is responsible for directing the organization in accordance with its mission, vision, and values and will serve as an ex-officio member of the Board.

Requirements

  • Doctorate-level education or a master's degree in health administration, public health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in executive-level healthcare leadership.
  • Experience in a non-profit organization and within a complex health system with both ambulatory and acute functions is valuable.

  • Possession of a physician or other clinician credential and associated license to practice.

  • Direct the organization in accordance with its mission, vision, and values.
  • Promote an environment of collaboration and build a culture of exceptional service.
  • Establish current and long-range objectives.
  • Provide leadership across diverse organizational operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Create a culture of patient safety and ensure high quality care and service.
  • Advance initiatives to improve population health.
  • Ensure regulatory and legal compliance for the organization.
  • Manage effective financial stewardship, people management, board governance, development, physician relations, system member relations, and community relations.
  • Provide direction to ensure successful implementation of major initiatives.
  • Work closely with the SVHC Development team as an ex-officio member of the SVHC Foundation.
