About The Position

Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) is one of the nation’s largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services. Headquartered in King of Prussia, PA, UHS has approximately 99,000 employees and operates acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities, outpatient facilities, and various related services across the U.S., Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom. Hermitage Hall, located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, is a CARF-accredited residential treatment facility for children and teens facing social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. The facility offers diverse programming and has a campus that includes educational facilities, a dormitory, and a gymnasium. UHS is currently seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Hermitage Hall, who will be responsible for directing day-to-day operations, managing staff, ensuring high-quality care, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience as a behavioral executive or Director of a large acute care facility with a multi-unit psych department.
  • Working knowledge of behavioral health management practices and clinical operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Knowledge of operations and financial management and marketing methods.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Create an environment and culture that focuses on fulfilling the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Manage clinical and non-clinical departments to drive patient care outcomes.
  • Ensure hospital quality metrics are achieved through sound clinical processes.
  • Recruit physicians and staff in targeted specialty areas and develop new areas of medical care.
  • Supervise the development of outpatient care and ambulatory programs.
  • Develop positive relationships with local industry, government, and healthcare providers.
  • Ensure timely submission of month-end financial and operational reviews.
  • Contribute to corporate-wide strategic planning efforts.
  • Communicate operational circumstances and events to supervisors and appropriate personnel.
  • Achieve budgeted financial objectives.
  • Manage contract negotiations and compliance with the commercial payor community.
  • Increase revenues and maintain or decrease the effective bad debt rate.
  • Focus on census building efforts and strategic planning.
