As a Chief Engineer, you will be a technical pillar for new product development programs, strategic product initiatives and a prime technical advisor. Your experience will be utilized to review technical proposals and communicate technical topics with company leadership, customers, and suppliers. You will be a challenger in technical design reviews, and strategy discussions. You will support various activities including system analysis, conceptual architecture, functional analysis, interface definition, trade studies, and system testing strategies.

  • Lead critical design decisions, conduct trade studies, and translate customer requirements into actionable system and subsystem concepts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partnering organizations for ongoing and new business product development.
  • Collaborate with customers, guiding the development of internal technical roadmaps to meet evolving customer needs.
  • Drive overall system architecture, focusing on Hardware/Software interaction to meet customer requirements.
  • Support a team of system, hardware, and software engineers in the development of avionics products.
  • Contribute to end-to-end product development, spanning all aspects of the product life cycle.
  • Drive a culture of proactive cross-functional technical oversight and rapid issue resolution.
  • Serve as technical authority on applicable Product and engineering boards.
  • Lead and/or approve root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities.
  • Review design changes and configuration control as well as creation, establishment and execution of design processes and standards.
  • Provide oversight over Engineering execution within the program.
  • Support technical discussions at every level internally and externally.
  • Support the creation of executable Estimates at Completion (EAC) for the program.
  • Oversee engineering Risks and Opportunities across the programs.
  • Identify and exploit synergies across programs and across the organization.
  • Provide technical oversight of the status reports to Program and Engineering organizations.
  • Responsible for the design artifacts supporting the Certification dossier.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in system engineering, hardware design, and technical leadership roles for avionics or related products.
  • Proven expertise in system architecture design, with a strong emphasis on combined hardware/software systems and systems integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive decisions on complex technical issues.
  • Ability to perform system analysis to ensure subsystem specifications meet product requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with SAE ARP4754 and ARP4761, RTCA DO-178, DO-254 and DO-160.
  • Experience with DOD qualification requirements and methodology is a plus.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Knowledge of process-heavy design environment.
  • Excellent root cause analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, high product mix environment.
  • Thorough understanding of formal configuration management.
  • Knowledge of product life cycle flow management.
