As a Chief Engineer at JLL, you will serve as a crucial on-site leader responsible for overseeing engineering teams and ensuring the efficient, safe, and responsible operation of all infrastructure systems and equipment supporting manufacturing processes. This role combines advanced technical expertise with strong management skills to maintain optimal facility operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives. You'll be at the forefront of JLL's commitment to operational excellence, leading a team of skilled professionals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, performance, and client satisfaction that define our industry-leading approach to facility management.

  • Lead and manage the engineering team through hiring, training, coaching, and personal development initiatives
  • Oversee comprehensive maintenance tasks for facility infrastructure and production equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and pneumatic issues in machines and equipment
  • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance procedures to optimize system performance
  • Manage engineering budget and actively participate in overall operating budget development process
  • Assist in developing and executing capital improvement plans aligned with facility objectives
  • Select, schedule, and supervise contractors while monitoring their performance and compliance standards
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and service calls with swift problem resolution
  • Minimum 7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, or similar leadership role
  • Proven people management experience leading technical teams
  • Universal CFC EPA certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use ladders up to 30 feet tall
  • Physical capability for frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving
  • Strong customer service and communication skills for client-facing interactions
  • Trade school education, union training, military service, or college degree
  • Experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and water treatment
  • Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices
  • Project management skills and experience with technical training program development
