Summary The Chief Engineer (CE) leads, coordinates, and exercises technical program execution authority over Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for planning, organizing, controlling, integration, execution of, and close out of engineering content on a variety of flight simulator programs. The position will work closely with senior level program engineering management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Responsible for managing large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams. The CE performs as the technical lead over the assigned engineering team on a program to include leading/participating in program peer & gate reviews, supporting program management reviews (PMRs), and coordinating technical activity amongst the program IPTs. The CE performs weekly/monthly Cost Account Management (CAM) reviews with IPTs and is responsible for technical, cost and schedule performance for the engineering content on a program. Communicates within and outside of the organization which include customers or vendors. The CE receives engineering direction from and is accountable to a Directorate Chief Engineer (DCE), who has overall Program Engineering responsibility for successfully proposing, developing and delivering Product Line solutions. Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area. Implements strategic goals established by leadership. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Sciences 8+ years of USG/DoD development program experience 3+ years of Engineering Lead experience in USG/DoD development programs 3+ years of experience with IBM/Rational or Atlassian development and collaboration tools, DOORS, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Microsoft Project Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
