Responsibilities Complete Building Services (CBS) provides operational support to more than 100 commercial properties throughout the Washington, DC metro area. We are currently seeking a Chief Engineer for a medical facility in Alexandria, VA. In this role, the Chief Engineer will collaborate closely with our client and maintenance team to ensure optimal building performance and efficiency. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m with after-hours support for projects as needed. Compensation: $45 per hour.

Requirements

  • Strong building operations knowledge-heat-pumps/hot water boilers/pumps/generator/vav boxes
  • Demonstrate expert working knowledge-mechanical/electrical/life safety/plumbing
  • Quality Control/Inspect completed work
  • Ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work, as required
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and project tracking software
  • Ability to read, review and understand blueprints
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Providing Quality Control services for the work of subordinates and subcontractors to ensure maximum efficiency, economy, and quality of work performed
  • Assist with competitive process, develop statement of work construction documents, obtain bids/proposals/cost estimates for TWO's (Tenant Work Order's) and construction projects
  • Oversight of diagnostic and repairs on building systems
  • Oversight of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety system repairs
  • Preparing work schedules
  • Maintaining records and prepare required reports
  • Coordinating and schedule maintenance and repair work on a daily basis
  • Manage some on-site subcontractors supporting projects
  • Preparing and issuing solicitations for the subcontractors as necessary
