About The Position

As the Chief Engineer, you’ll ensure all aspects of hotel maintenance are kept to the very best standards and in line with all relevant health and safety policies and procedures. You will be in charge of assigning, overseeing, and helping to complete all upkeep and routine maintenance of company property and guest spaces, to ensure everything is in top working order.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and computer literacy.
Well-organized, self-motivated, and able to maintain composure in all situations.
Proficiency in verbal and written English.
Knowledge of common equipment malfunctions and ability to repair basic heating and A/C systems.
Familiarity with pool and spa chemicals, regulations, and equipment maintenance.
Elevator and fire equipment handling proficiency.
Ability to meet physical requirements including operating machinery, lifting objects, and frequent bending/stooping.

Nice To Haves

Technical certifications or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure building and outside grounds are maintained and kept up to all applicable codes
Train maintenance department staff according to standards
Manage hotel’s life safety for guests and team members
Maintain the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel and identify trends and implement or recommend solutions for problems
Contribute to Virtelle’s culture by continually promoting a collaborative, proactive, and interactive working environment
Ensure appearance of all department members is clean and professional
Know and enforce all relevant safety, emergency, and accident procedures
Work with others to produce creative approaches to common goals
Maximize team potential with a balance of operations, guests, employee and owner's satisfaction
Support the team by being available to assist with challenges and emergencies
Represent Virtelle Hospitality with professionalism when participating in work-related activities in the community
