Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta, GA is looking to hire a Full-Time Chief Engineer. The Chief Engineer will supervise or coordinate all repairs and general maintenance need for equipment, furniture, masonry and building structures to maintain the club property in optimal condition and appearance. As a Chief Engineer, you can expect to earn a competitive salary of $90,000 - $105,000 and great benefits and perks. Job Summary: This position coordinates the servicing, maintenance, and repair of all building systems, including lighting, heating, ventilation, fire protection, drainage, plumbing, electrical, painting, and related maintenance activities. The role manages the Club’s CMMS (ticketing system) as well as overseeing work performed by outside contractors and regularly communicates project status to the Facilities Director. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records for equipment and machinery; hiring, supervising, scheduling, training, and evaluating Facilities Technicians and Painters; and conducting routine visual inspections of public spaces and back-of-house areas to identify deficiencies. Additionally, the role will have budgetary responsibility through the monitoring of labor and expenses in R&M. This role will assist the director in creating the annual budget. The position supervises the maintenance of parking lots, tennis courts, swimming pools, and other recreational areas and ensures all building maintenance, repairs, and cleaning activities are properly identified, scheduled, and completed. Additionally, the role maintains workshop areas in a safe, clean, and well-lit condition; ensures proper removal of refuse from the clubhouse and surrounding premises; attends staff meetings as required; and remains on call to respond to emergencies. Duties also include issuing tools, supplies, and equipment to employees; reviewing, prioritizing, and assigning preventive maintenance and work order requests from department heads; maintaining inventory of tools, materials, and supplies; assisting the Facilities Director with ongoing repair and maintenance planning, including capital replacement and improvement needs; ensuring compliance with OSHA standards through an effective safety program; ordering parts and materials; interpreting blueprints as necessary; and performing other duties as assigned.
