About The Position

ABM is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee all engineering, maintenance, and building operations for a key facility in Dallas, TX. This leader will be responsible for directing a team of technicians, managing building systems, and ensuring the property operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory and company standards. The ideal candidate is a strong technician with proven leadership skills and experience managing complex building systems. Compensation: $110k - $130k annual salary (US Dollars) DOE The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program 401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in building engineering, facilities maintenance, or related field2+ years of supervisory or lead technician experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required
  • Universal EPA Certification, Journeyman license, or related credentials preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all maintenance, engineering, and building operations for the facility
  • Lead, train, and supervise maintenance technicians and support staff
  • Ensure proper functioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life‑safety systems
  • Conduct regular inspections and implement preventative maintenance programs
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, systems, and components as needed
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and service agreements
  • Oversee budgets, inventory control, and purchase of materials/equipment
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, safety policies, and all regulatory requirements
  • Respond to emergency situations and critical system issues promptly
  • Provide exceptional customer service to building occupants and clients
