The Chief Engineer supervises the overall success of plant operations at Georgetown University adhering to the Client's culture and guidelines, Company standards and expectations. Oversees all HVAC and BAS systems. Maintains and teaches a good work ethic. Motivates, trains, develops and directs all staff to accomplish the goals and objectives of the operation to the satisfaction of the customers. Solves problems professionally, rapidly and fairly. Maintains a working relationship with client.

Requirements

  • Must possess a DC 3rd Class Boiler license
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
  • Must be capable of reading electrical schematics, mechanical, and plumbing blue prints
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Class C contractor's license along with good working knowledge all aspects of plant maintenance to include but not limited to; Electrical, Boilers, Hydraulics, Compressed Air, Mechanical Equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or military experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Update work statuses and documents tasks completed in the CMMS utilizing a mobile device
  • Helps determine manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs and projects
  • Cleans, lubrictes, services and repairs and diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical nad mechanical building systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire safety
  • Assists in marking decisions on all repairs and reports major problems to the Maintenance Supervisor, Foreman and Manager as appropriate
  • Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power & hand tools and other necessary equipment
  • Reviews outside vendor projects and makes punch lists
  • Assure compliance with all wastewater and emissions standards
  • Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems and mechanical problems related to utilities
  • Supports project managment acitivity as needed
