Chief Engineer-JLL What this job involves: As Chief Engineer at JLL, you will lead comprehensive facility operations while shaping a brighter way for our clients through technical excellence and innovation. This critical role oversees all building systems including fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), electrical (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear), cabling (data, voice, broadband), and digital systems across multiple sites. You will develop and execute strategic maintenance plans that incorporate preventive, corrective, and reliability-centered maintenance procedures while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety standards. Working collaboratively with diverse teams locally and across the globe, you will manage engineering staff, contractors, and vendor relationships while driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position empowers you to thrive as a technical leader, implementing innovative solutions that enhance building performance, support critical environments, and deliver exceptional client service. Your expertise will directly impact operational efficiency, cost management, and the creation of safe, sustainable work environments where teams can flourish.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of building operations and facilities management experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire/life safety, and building automation systems
  • Proven leadership experience supervising engineering teams and managing complex facility operations
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance programs, reliability-centered maintenance, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Work in various indoor/outdoor environments and weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, standing, walking, and working in various positions for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical / HVAC license or equivalent trade certifications
  • EPA Universal 608 certification.
  • Project management experience.
  • Previous vendor management experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and continuous operation of all building infrastructure including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and digital systems
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies incorporating preventive, corrective, and reliability-centered maintenance best practices
  • Supervise and develop engineering teams and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and professional development initiatives
  • Manage contractor activities and vendor relationships while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures
  • Maintain regulatory compliance documentation, building drawings, single-lines, and all infrastructure records required by Federal, State, and Local regulations
  • Support capital projects including BAS, electrical, fuel tank, air compressor, and lab relocation initiatives per MSA requirements
  • Provide training and technical support on facility management systems including Get Service, ADP, WorkDay, Siemens, and Niagara BAS platforms
