About the position

The Chief Engineer will oversee the design and maintenance of complex engineering systems at a fast-growing manufacturing plant. This role requires a strong background in PLC programming, capital project management, and wastewater treatment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards while optimizing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of complex engineering systems, including PLCs, Allen Bradley PLC, and Ladder Logic.
• Develop and implement capital project management strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor the performance of wastewater treatment processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of NH3 refrigeration and Ammonia systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement strategies for improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead the development and implementation of training programs for engineering staff to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
• Act as the company's primary engineering liaison with external stakeholders, including customers, regulators, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Accounting + Finance industry.
• Proven experience with PLCs, Allen Bradley PLC, Ladder Logic, capital project management, wastewater treatment, NH3 refrigeration, and Ammonia systems.
• Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage a team and collaborate effectively with other departments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify and implement effective solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance, with a proven track record of ensuring the safe and compliant operation of complex engineering systems.
