Job Details Level: Senior Job Location: The Saint Paul Hotel - Saint Paul, MN Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 2 Year Degree Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 Salary Job Shift: Varies, includes Weekends & Holidays Job Category: Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance Description Supervises and coordinates workers engaged in care, maintenance, operation and/or repair of all electrical and mechanical devices. Accountable for operation of the Property, Operation and Maintenance Department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Keeps executive management team promptly and fully informed on all problems or unusual matters of significance so prompt corrective action can be taken when appropriate. * Manages the room punch program. * Responsible for preparing the department budget and forecast and managing both within the approved guidelines. * Directs and ensures workers are skilled in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. * Develops and trains a cohesive work team. Conducts required monthly and annual trainings. * Establishes and updates standards and procedures for the engineering staff. * Ensures workers follow OSHA and various other Federal, State, and Local safety regulations and keeps SDS up to date. * Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. * Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery. * Purchase materials, spare parts, tools, and equipment required for quality of Hotel operations. * Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. * Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. * Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. * Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. * Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. * Actively participates in energy conservation programs. * Maintains time and production records. Responsible for departmental payroll. * Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities with individual departments. * Oversees the implementation and appropriate execution of present and/or future service agreements/contracts which are entered into by the Hotel. * Responsible for the aesthetic and functional quality of the Hotel's property including the building interior, exterior grounds, furnishings, glass, materials, and equipment. * Responsible for the efficient use of consumable energy products, i.e., district hot water, electricity, domestic water, district cold water and natural gas * Any other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Two (2) year degree in appropriate field * Four to six (4 to 6) years related experience * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to position self to move about. * The employee frequently is required to operate and use specific tools and equipment; and communicate with guests, employees, owners, and management. * The employee may need to travel (locally) to other properties occasionally. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. * Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. * The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
