About The Position

The Chief Engineer & Scientist, CT/AMI shapes the global scientific vision and strategic direction for CT/AMI solutions and imaging platforms, driving innovation, research excellence, and transformational healthcare impact. You will advance Philips’ research and development agenda for CT/AMI solutions while steering the imaging platform strategy that underpins future product innovation. Your work will directly influence patient outcomes, define the evolution of imaging technologies, and strengthen Philips’ position as a leader in healthcare innovation.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent advanced degree in Medical Imaging, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience (achievement and leadership) in imaging equipment development.
  • Recognized scientific leader in CT/AMI imaging with a strong record of publications, patents, or technological breakthroughs.
  • Proven experience managing R&D or scientific innovation teams in a global and matrixed organization.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate scientific advancements into competitive products.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Expertise in imaging platform architecture, clinical requirements translation, and regulatory environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability working with key stakeholders to shape the innovation pipeline with new concepts and ideas while shaping the business portfolio.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large global multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to partner with critical stakeholders, including product marketing, clinical science, Service, PMO, and other enabling functions.
  • Strong and inspiring people leader with a track record of performance and leading large development teams in multiple geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement long-term scientific strategies aligned with business objectives, customer needs, and healthcare trends.
  • Define platform architecture and technology integration across imaging portfolios.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in breakthrough innovation, ensuring operational excellence, quality standards, and impactful delivery of next-generation imaging solutions.
  • Build international recognition as a thought leader, representing Philips in scientific forums, conferences, and strategic networks with academia, clinical partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop scientific talent globally.
  • Foster an inclusive, high-performance environment that encourages innovation and growth.
  • Oversee global R&D portfolios, ensuring timely, high-quality, and cost-effective project execution in alignment with business strategy.
  • Anticipate and analyze market, regulatory, and technology trends to guide innovation pipelines, ensure compliance, and maximize customer value.
