Follow Trident on the Web at www.tridentseafoods.com or on social media on Facebook , Twitter , Instagram , Pinterest , YouTube or LinkedIn Directs and oversees the activities of the engine room regarding the mechanical operations, repair and maintenance functions for the vessel by performing the following duties personally: Essential Functions: Directs and oversees the functionality and safety of the vessel’s engines, boilers, deck machinery, electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration and sanitary systems in accordance with Trident policy and local, state and federal laws and regulations. Oversees and establishes the performance and operation standards for all vessel systems. Resolves problems using solutions that involve appropriate techniques, technologies, or concepts. Must be able to give specific directions in the case of an emergency. Can include launching a raft, donning an immersion suit or life preserver, assist in a response to fire or flooding. Directs and oversees required documentation for energy management, conservations and preventative maintenance programs. Confers with Captain and management to determine engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness of present or future projects. Oversees the design and implementation of training to ensure that all vessel engineering start are properly trained, qualified and in compliance with regulatory training and/or regulatory certification requirements. Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, and/or inter-departmental relations. Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
