As part of the Connected Aviation Air Traffic Solutions (ATS) team in Marlborough, MA, you'll be instrumental in developing the next generation of Air Traffic Control Radar Systems and supporting our existing fielded systems. As a Chief Engineer, ATS Surveillance Production Programs you will join our Air Traffic Solutions Chief Engineering Department. In this role, you will lead a multifunction team to provide modern surveillance radar products that support air traffic operations in the US and around the globe. This is a multi-faceted role where you will be a senior-level individual engineering contributor on proposals and programs with a focus on standing up and leading our US Production line in Largo Florida.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • 3-5 years of practical experience with Design, Development, Production or Sustainment of complex systems with an understanding of radar fundamentals
  • Prior experience leading small to medium teams direct or indirect
  • Prior experience interacting with Development and Production teams to resolve discrepancies and issues
  • Prior experience working in an operation, manufacturing, program, cross-functional, or equivalent environment
  • Demonstrated initiative, perseverance, and creativity in problem solving, strategic planning, project and deadline administration, and utilization of business system resources
  • Flexibility and agility to work in an undefined development environment where processes and procedures may not always exist
  • Prior experience preparing / facilitating customer and management level briefings
  • Prior experience in proposal estimation, request for proposals and performing cost estimates
  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Ability to manipulate and process reports and work artifacts with large amount of data
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience generating EACs, providing cost variance analysis, and managing risk and opportunities
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and data analytics tools such as PRISM/APEX, CMES, Kinaxis, and PowerBi
  • Familiarity with documentation systems such as Common PDM to validate As-Built configurations, alternates, ECNs, and change history
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain Management practices

Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical activities related to standing up and running the ATS Radar production line in Largo, FL in collaboration with design authority teams in the US, UK and Canada.
  • Build a cohesive and collaborative team able to adapt to changing customer needs in surveillance radars
  • Support the performance of all the members on your teams, including providing open and honest feedback
  • Serve as a day-to-day liaison from the Surveillance Program Office to Engineering Management concerning employee job assignments, performance, and recognition opportunities
  • Total program life cycle execution from bid/proposal through development/EDM, transition to deliver, production, and depot/sustainment
  • Technical program planning, schedule management, and manufacturing execution
  • Coordinate with Operations on cost/process improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain on material procurement issue resolution
  • Cost Account Manager (CAM), Estimate at Complete (EAC) development, analysis, and presentation, understanding and use of Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk and opportunity management
  • Interface with both internal and external customers at Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Gates, EACs, Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and customer visits/tours
  • This position requires occasional international and domestic travel.
