About The Position

The Chief Electrical Inspector plays a pivotal role in ensuring electrical safety across the state of Wyoming. This position is responsible for creating an inclusive and respectful work environment while maintaining effective communication between field personnel and office support staff. The Chief Electrical Inspector will work closely with the State Fire Marshal and the Agency Management Team to integrate strategy, training, and policy, ensuring that operational and fiscal performance standards are met. The role requires a commitment to fostering a cooperative work environment and accountability for the performance of the electrical safety section. In this capacity, the Chief Electrical Inspector will lead the agency in overseeing electrical safety operations, providing administrative oversight, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety codes and standards. This includes planning and coordinating the effective use of staff and resources, performing complex administrative and supervisory tasks, and mentoring electrical staff to promote their professional development. The Chief Electrical Inspector will also be responsible for examining inspection reports, developing and implementing procedural improvements, and preparing reports for decision-making purposes. The position requires a proactive approach to resolving customer service issues, administering electrical permitting functions, and coordinating electrical plan reviews and inspections. The Chief Electrical Inspector will also be tasked with planning and reviewing the agency's goals and budget, developing policies to ensure operational efficiency, and maintaining open communication with the Electrical Board and other governmental agencies. This role is essential in promoting safe practices and preventative measures for electrical safety throughout the state, making it a critical position within the Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety Department.
