About The Position

As the Chief Digital Architect, you will have the opportunity to work with the largest government agency in the nation, making a significant impact on the Department of Defense’s mission to ensure national security. Your role will involve analyzing and recommending improvements to existing infrastructure and service offerings, providing guidance in modernizing and securing networks, and migrating applications to the cloud. You will collaborate with customers to develop new IT strategies that support emerging mission needs and make recommendations for the future of enterprise architecture. Your responsibilities will include assessing DoD frameworks, developing architecture solutions, and leading enterprise Agile/SAFe activities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain ITIL 4 Foundation – ITSM Certification within the first 9 months.
  • Must be capable of performing analysis of system operations.
  • Must be capable of system decomposition via OMG frameworks (UML, DoDAF 2.0/UPDM, SysML, UAF).
  • Must be able to model systems via different perspectives and at various levels of abstraction.
  • Familiarity with UML modeling tools (Cameo Enterprise Architect preferred).
  • Ability to meet with stakeholders and analyze requirements, processes, systems, and capabilities.
  • Capability to extend UML-based models to other tools or modeling environments.
  • Familiarity with executable models (fUML specification preferred).
  • Ability to generate/produce data and reports.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to present positively with customers and peers.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in modeling, e.g., OCSMP (OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional).
  • Experience modeling complex systems for Department of Defense or other government organizations.
  • Experience publishing models to web-based or document-based formats.
  • Experience developing applications using object-oriented programming languages (Java preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and recommend improvements to existing infrastructure and service offerings.
  • Provide guidance and support in modernizing and securing networks.
  • Refactor applications and migrate data center applications to the cloud.
  • Collaborate with customers to develop new mission support IT strategies.
  • Assess current and future skills and technologies to support emerging mission needs.
  • Make recommendations for enterprise architecture and roadmaps.
  • Assess DoD frameworks (DoDAF, UAF, TOGAF) and ensure adherence to them.
  • Develop 'as is' and 'to be' architecture and solutions focusing on scalability and extensibility.
  • Assist in executing and maintaining enterprise Agile/SAFe activities.
  • Lead model development and curation for enterprise architecture utilizing MBSE methods.
  • Define digital platform architecture frameworks and best practices.
  • Implement the platform under an automated configuration management framework.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of information security.
  • Hold responsibility for the architecture of the data framework for program performance metrics.
