About The Position

The Chief Development Officer (CDO) will be a visionary and strategic leader responsible for driving innovation across the capacity planning, construction, and service delivery departments of a leading data center company. The CDO will also oversee and execute strategies for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to ensure the organization remains competitive and well-positioned for growth in a dynamic industry. This role will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with other executives to align innovative initiatives with the company's long-term objectives. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or Master's) preferred.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in the data center, technology, or related fields.
• Proven track record of driving innovation and leading cross-functional teams.
• Extensive experience in capacity planning, construction, service delivery, and M&A.
• Strategic thinking with a strong ability to anticipate industry trends and adapt.
• Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Expertise in financial analysis, project management, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an innovation roadmap to enhance capacity expansion, construction projects, service delivery, and operational scalability across all departments and functions.
• Foster a culture of innovation/development, encouraging teams to think creatively and explore transformative ideas.
• Oversee capacity planning strategies to ensure the company meets current and future customer demand.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize data center utilization and resource allocation.
• Implement advanced analytics and AI-driven tools to predict trends and inform decision-making.
• Drive innovation in data center design and construction, focusing on sustainability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate and implement cutting-edge construction techniques and materials to reduce build times and enhance durability.
• Partner with vendors and contractors to adopt industry-leading best practices.
• Oversee the development of innovative service delivery models to improve customer experience and operational performance.
• Integrate automation, AI and other technologies to streamline service delivery.
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure service reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Lead the identification, evaluation and execution of M&A accretive opportunities to support the company's growth.
• Conduct due diligence to assess the strategic value, risks and synergies of potential acquisitions.
• Develop integration strategies to ensure seamless transitions and maximize value creation post-acquisition.
• Work closely with the executive team to align innovation strategies with the company's mission and vision.
• Engage with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to showcase leadership in innovation.
