About The Position
The Chief Development Officer (CDO) oversees and implements the organization's fundraising strategy, manages the development team, and drives advocacy and awareness to expand mission impact and organizational growth. The Chief Development Officer is responsible for carrying out the mission, policies, and strategic goals of the Oakwood Foundation Board, as well as the President & Chief Executive Officer, as it relates to marketing and fundraising for the organization. This position provides leadership and oversight in cultivating donor relationships and gifts for the Oakwood Foundation. The Chief Development Officer will grow the foundation portfolio and expand its major donor program. Effective communication in this role is essential, with a specific emphasis on representing Oakwood and the Oakwood Foundation with honesty and integrity and honoring donor intent in the use of Oakwood Foundation Funds.
