The Chief Data Officer provides leadership and strategic direction for the Data Services Department in the Information Technology Division. Performs highly advanced (senior-level) work administering the daily operations and activities of the Texas Water Development Board’s Data Services Department. Work involves establishing goals and objectives. Develops guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations. Develops schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving established goals. Coordinates and evaluates the Data Services Department functions. Develops and evaluates budget requests and monitoring budget expenditures. Performs managerial, data analysis and architecture work while providing direction and guidance in strategic operations. Develops policies, standards, designs, and action plans related to enterprise-wide information governance, data system integrity and integration, and the use of data for business intelligence and analytics in support of strategic planning and assessment. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Deputy Chief Information Officer of the Information Technology Division.
