About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a Chief CRNA to provide administrative leadership for all staff CRNAs. The Chief CRNA will oversee anesthesia services provided to patients of all ages at Strong Memorial Hospital, ensuring high standards of care and effective communication within the department. This role includes responsibilities in leadership, mentorship, scheduling, communication, and administrative tasks, all aimed at maintaining a supportive and efficient work environment for CRNAs.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Graduate of a school of nurse anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
• Current A.A.N.A. membership in active practicing category.
• CRNA - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative leadership for all staff CRNAs.
• Orients new CRNAs to the department and completes initial competency review.
• Leads recruitment efforts for new CRNA staff in collaboration with the Department Chair.
• Coordinates annual reviews for CRNAs and provides in-person feedback.
• Serves as a coach and advisor to all CRNAs and SRNAs.
• Develops and oversees a fair scheduling system for CRNAs.
• Communicates updates and issues to the CRNA group and serves as the main point of contact.
• Completes and submits paperwork for CEU credits and handles credentialing forms.
• Participates in departmental meetings to review finances and workflow.
• Ensures compliance with annual health updates and recertification for CRNAs.
