About The Position

The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) actively leads both Agency and State clinical initiatives & projects and provides supervision, guidance, and support to the Clinical Officer. The CCO provides oversight of both the clinical and administrative functions of behavioral health and SUD programming to ensure programs operate per Standards, certification, and contractual requirements.

Requirements

  • Capable of conducting analytical evaluations and communicating with the President/CEO and other program stakeholders.
  • Meet the requirements to be a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or Quality Addiction Professional (QAP).
  • Meet the minimum requirements to be clinically privileged by FCC Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

  • Actively lead MH and SUD programs.
  • Lead State Initiatives and projects.
  • Provide oversight of MH/SUD programming and work closely with the Clinical Officers and EVP/CO to ensure all programs operate per Standards, certification, and contractual requirements.
  • Provide input and assist with the development of the Agency’s Strategic Plan. Ensure there is progress with the clinical initiatives on the plan.
  • Provide oversight of all clinical operations. Design/Update policies, procedures, protocols as necessary and discuss these changes in PQI to obtain final approval. Communicate approved changes to Clinical Officers and Program leadership and monitor to ensure compliance.
  • Thoroughly review all agency/external survey information and develop a plan to address issues, as needed.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Officers to improve agency’s culture and environment.
  • Provide supervision to the Clinical Officers and other supervisees on a regularly scheduled basis. Supervision sessions will be documented on the Agency’s Documentation form in Unbound.
  • Network and attend meetings at local and some State levels. Participate in community events and panel discussions. Identify community education needs and work with team to develop a plan to address.
  • Attend PQI meetings, assist with the development of the PQI plan, complete PQI tasks assigned, and ensure the leadership team follows and completes items on the PQI plan.
  • Monitor chart audit compliance for programs.
  • Participate in the IRC meeting and other meetings/committees/workgroups, as assigned.
  • Meet with the Quality Department (Clinical Auditors) on a regular basis to thoroughly discuss findings of individual program reviews. Specifically discuss fidelity for EBP’s and develop plans to address any areas of improvement identified.
  • Brainstorm/Develop plans to maximize revenue, expand services, and participate in new financial opportunities. Assure efficiency of resources to sustain/reduce cost.
  • Organize, schedule, and facilitate Special (EMT) Review Meetings, as necessary.
  • Develop and consistently follow a communication plan to ensure information is effectively communicated to staff.
  • Check email daily and respond timely.
  • Monitor training plans of direct supervisees and ensure compliance. Check in on a regular basis with the CO to ensure programs are in compliance.
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
