About The Position

The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) is responsible for the planning, organizing, developing, and directing the hospital's nursing services and other clinical functions. The CCO participates with the hospital's governing body, management, medical staff and clinical leaders in the hospital's decision-making structures and processes responsible for developing and implementing plans for provision of patient care, patient care programs and policies and procedures that delineate how patient care needs are assessed and met by the institution. The Chief Clinical Officer speaks on behalf of the clinical and nursing services to the same extent that other hospital leaders speak for their respective disciplines or departments and exercises final authority over those associated with the provision of clinical treatment, and services. The Chief Clinical Officer performs such other duties as may be necessary in the best interest of the hospital and carries out those duties as well as other duties which may be specifically delegated by the Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements

  • Current State of California Registered Nurse Licensure
  • Master's Degree in Nursing; Health Care Administration or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience and five years' experience of acute nursing care (critical care preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to develop, plan, and implement programs.
  • Strong leadership, managerial and effective time management skills, as well as profit/loss experience.
