About The Position

The Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute (OHHVI) is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiac Surgeon for an exceptional leadership opportunity asChief of the Cardiac Surgery Program. The selected physician will spearhead the operations and strategy within OHHVI. Candidates must have at least five (5) years of post-training experience with prior leadership experience being preferred. The Chief will lead the expansion of the program and collaborate with specialists across surgical and medical cardiology, vascular surgery, and critical care to treat patients. The Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a physician leader with the ambition to represent the program in the community, promote services, and build upon a strong referral base. Candidate will be working clinically in partnership with the four existing cardiac surgeons. The program currently performs 1000+ open heart cases, 300+ structural heart cases, including aortic surgery, LVAD, ECMO, minimally invasive and arrhythmia surgery. Requirements

  • Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Minimum offive (5) years post-fellowship clinical experience with demonstrated record in excellent outcomes.
  • Case log required.
  • Commitment in working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and disciplines to champion world class patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision and Program Development:Partner with OHHVI leadership to guide strategic vision within the Orlando Health system for cardiac surgery growth.
  • Collaborative Team Leadership: Grow and integrate within a mature team of cardiac surgeons to elevate cardiac surgery in the community.
  • Teaching & Mentorship: Teaching and mentorship opportunities within the cardiac surgery program and within General Surgery and cardiology residencies and fellowships.
