About The Position

Plateau GRP is seeking a highly experienced Chief Architect to serve as the primary architectural authority for our government project. The Chief Architect will play a pivotal role in defining, maintaining, and governing the enterprise and solution architecture supporting our client’s mission. This role emphasizes architectural governance, strategic alignment, and decision enablement—not hands-on system implementation or operational execution. The Chief Architect will work closely with Government leadership, integration partners, and diverse stakeholder groups to ensure that the project’s architecture evolves in a controlled, secure, and mission-aligned manner. The successful candidate will bring deep experience in multi cloud, federated, and complex IT ecosystems and demonstrate a strong command of DoD validated architecture frameworks.

Requirements

  • Active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in enterprise, system, or solution architecture roles supporting programs of comparable size, scope, and complexity.
  • Proven experience establishing and governing enterprise architecture baselines in heterogeneous multi-cloud environments (e.g., multiple commercial cloud providers, hybrid, or on-premises).
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating architectural tradeoffs, enforcing standards, and supporting Government decision-making processes.
  • Experience operating within complex, federated IT environments, including coordination across multiple stakeholders, security enclaves, and integration partners.
  • Experience applying DoD or Federal architecture frameworks (e.g., DoDAF or equivalent).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience leading or advising architecture governance bodies such as Architecture Review Boards (ARBs) or Technical Review Boards (TRBs).
  • Experience supporting federated or multi-cloud architectures, including the alignment of security, data, and platform standards across environments.
  • Experience with data, analytics, artificial intelligence, or platform modernization efforts in an architectural governance or leadership role.
  • Background in collaborating with industry partners, commercial vendors, and open-source communities to inform architectural direction.
  • Professional certifications such as: CISSP Cloud architect certifications (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) Enterprise architecture or cybersecurity credentials

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Government’s primary architectural authority for the program.
  • Establish, maintain, and govern the enterprise and solution architecture baselines.
  • Ensure architectural consistency, traceability, and alignment with Government-approved objectives, standards, and governance processes.
  • Lead architectural decision-support activities, including evaluation of tradeoffs, risks, and alternatives.
  • Coordinate across Government stakeholders, integration partners, engineering teams, and cross-functional groups to ensure cohesive architectural design.
  • Ensure proposed technical solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and governance controls.
  • Support Government decision-making by providing authoritative technical guidance, architectural assessments, and documentation.
  • Oversee the controlled evolution of the platform architecture across heterogeneous, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
  • Apply DoD and Federal architecture frameworks (e.g., DoDAF) to ensure governance, traceability, and architectural rigor.
