About The Position

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) reports directly to the CEO and plays an essential role in driving the growth and leadership of AgeWays by pursuing and developing new business opportunities. The CAO will be instrumental in identifying, establishing, and nurturing partnerships with community based organizations, commercial health plans, health systems, and other service delivery entities whose business models align with AgeWays’ mission and strategic priorities. The position is also responsible for leading the development of AgeWays three year strategic plan and annual objectives while guiding the organization forward to ensure sustainability and growth. The CAO will support the execution of AgeWays initiatives and projects acting as a bridge between departments to improve collaboration and drive execution toward strategic goals. The CAO will be responsible for overseeing internal administrative operations to streamline workflows that improve organizational efficiency and coordinate cross departmentally to develop standardized operating procedures (SOPs). The CAO will provide leadership and strategic direction to the Technology & Analytics and Executive Services department ensuring infrastructure supports the Agency needs. The CAO’s duties and responsibilities are not limited to the position summary as listed in the job discretion. The CEO will assign duties and responsibilities within the scope of the CAO leadership position within the agency.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree minimum in Business/Healthcare Admin, Public Health or other related fields of study.
  • Must have 5 years of minimum Business/Healthcare Admin, Executive Leadership, Non-profit, Strategic Management, Public Health.
  • Must be self-directed, results driven, assertive, analytical thinker, strategic problem solver, detail oriented, data-driven decisionmaker, financially astute with the ability to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in executive leadership and corporate governance.
  • An understanding of Technology including electronic record management, systems integrations and upgrades, vendor selection and management required.
  • Ability to prepare, communicate, and deliver presentations to executive teams, board members, and employees.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
  • Ability to develop and implement business strategies and plans.
  • Knowledge of organizational structures and change management principles.
  • Understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and cost management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Able to effectively interact with all levels of employees, external stakeholders, public officials, and top level executives is necessary (politically savvy).
  • Intermediate Microsoft 360 skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Explore, evaluate, propose, and implement new business initiatives that advance the agency’s mission and market reach, developing viable business models and plans while securing external funding, additional grants, and other forms of financial support.
  • When appropriate, cultivate professional partnerships with external organizations that may expand current programs and create mutually beneficial outcomes for AgeWays.
  • Provides strategic oversight and collaborative data driven decision making within the Technology & Analytics department, ensuring technology solutions align with AgeWays goals.
  • Oversight of the Executive Services department which includes effective governance support for the Board of Directors and Advisory Council.
  • Leads the development of AgeWays’ three year strategic plan, including managing the planning process and facilitating input from key stakeholders across the organization and community.
  • Collaborates across departments to develop clear objectives and ensure they remain aligned, actionable, and on track throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Write and present final strategic plans and metrics to the Board of Directors.
  • Present ongoing strategic plan updates to AgeWays staff to ensure key priorities are clearly communicated, understood, and integrated across the Agency.
  • Provides comprehensive project management leadership, overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of key initiatives to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Communicates proactively with internal and external stakeholders to maintain transparency, manage expectations, and resolve issues.
  • Ensures all projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in accordance with quality standards, while continuously assessing risks, removing barriers, and driving improvements in project management processes.
  • Connect AgeWays with individuals, corporations, and foundations to cultivate monetary and in kind donations while enhancing market reach throughout the community.
  • Pursue grant and donor opportunities that align with AgeWays’ mission and specific project objectives, ensuring the organization is well positioned to secure meaningful financial support.
  • Ensures efficient internal operations by streamlining administrative workflows, developing standard operating procedures, and working collaboratively across departments to maintain alignment with AgeWays’ strategic goals.
