The Chief Actuary position is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Actuarial, Underwriting, and Data Analytics functions. This includes product segment pricing, claim reserving, premium and claims forecasting, as well as risk selection for all lines of business to deliver desired results. Additionally, this role encompasses responsibilities for Individual and Group Enrollment, Broker Administration, Electronic Enrollment, and Member Fulfillment activities to support corporate strategies and objectives. In this leadership position, you will provide direction and oversight to all functional areas reporting to Actuarial, Underwriting & Data Analytics. You will continually review the organizational structure and responsibilities to maximize efficiency and align with current corporate objectives and changes in the marketplace. A key aspect of this role is to facilitate a work environment that fosters ethical decision-making and activities by motivating, promoting, and modeling ethical behavior. You will also provide overall leadership in communication and dealings with other operating units within the organization, contributing at the strategic level with other senior management members and the Board of Directors in a collaborative manner. Managing the area's human capital resources is another critical responsibility, which includes management development and succession planning. You will partner with other departmental leaders and human resources to identify and develop future leaders. Furthermore, you will be responsible for contributing to both short and long-term strategic operating objectives, representing the Finance Department in board and committee meetings and retreats, and responding to requests for specific pricing and risk analysis from board and committee members.
