Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends. Position Summary: This position is responsible for the processing of all chickens including grading, vaccination and toe trimming.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.
  • Must agree to submit to a Security Threat Assessment.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Must regularly push or pull basket of chicks weighing up to 125 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend over; talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment.
  • Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks.
  • The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies.
  • Qualified applicants must have at least 12 months consecutive work experience with one employer with no gaps in employment of over six months.
  • Applicants must be available for in person interview.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

  • Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Place hatching eggs in properly labeled buggies.
  • Process chicks including: grade, vaccinate (operate robot), weigh chicks and perform toe trim,
  • Prepare chick boxes, count by-products.
  • Operate macerator
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, such as: Operate a high pressure and regular water hose, make and cut vitamin gel, maintain a clean and organized work area.
