The Fitness Assistant at HaysMed plays a crucial role in promoting health and wellness among members at The Center for Health Improvement. Under the supervision of the Fitness Manager, the assistant is responsible for conducting member orientations and assessments, ensuring that each member receives personalized attention and guidance in their fitness journey. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of exercise science and the ability to interpret and incorporate data into member exercise programs. The assistant will maintain and review member exercise plans, making necessary adjustments to enhance overall well-being and fitness outcomes. In addition to individual assessments, the Fitness Assistant will assist in the design and implementation of various health and wellness programs tailored for members, corporate clients, and community events. This includes reporting on the success of these programs through written publications, which helps in maintaining member engagement and retention. The role also involves ensuring that all fitness equipment is properly maintained and stored, and that any non-functioning equipment is reported promptly. The assistant will be responsible for monitoring class attendance and program statistics, ensuring clear communication with both staff and members. Preparation for classes is essential, including setting up equipment and sound systems, and leading warm-up and cool-down sessions. The assistant will also educate members on safe equipment use and body mechanics, while promoting awareness of training zones and the Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) scale. Furthermore, the Fitness Assistant will conduct personal training assessments, develop progressive program designs, and implement wellness plans that cater to diverse demographic needs. This includes focusing on aspects such as postural alignment, flexibility, strength conditioning, cardiovascular health, and nutrition. The assistant will motivate and educate members to achieve their wellness goals, continuously monitoring and adjusting their programs as necessary.
