About The Position

The Assistant Restaurant Manager/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service and guest satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of food service styles, cost controls, and the ability to manage staff effectively. The Assistant Manager will maintain compliance with hotel policies and service procedures, while also fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that all guests' needs are met promptly and courteously.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate, some college.
  • Minimum 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • 3-5 years experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager/Supervisor, preferably in a fine dining.
  • Knowledge of various food service styles.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and written.
  • Ability to compute basic arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage cost controls.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize.
  • Ability to work cohesively with associates as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest and associate information.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree.
  • Previous experience in cashiering/order taking and food service.
  • Certification of previous training in liquor, wine, and food service.
  • Previous culinary training.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Ability to suggestively sell.
  • Previous guest relations training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental and hotel policies, service procedures and standards.
  • Anticipate and respond promptly to guests' needs.
  • Resolve guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Establish par levels for food and beverage supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings with staff and review all information pertinent to the day's business.
  • Inspect grooming and attire of staff; rectify any deficiencies.
  • Monitor staff performance and ensure compliance with departmental standards.
  • Assist associates with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly payroll and tip distribution records.
  • Train and develop associates.
