About The Position

Chess Wizards is seeking sparkling chess tutors to join our after-school enrichment program in Guilford, CT. We are looking for special individuals who can cultivate children's love for the game, make chess fun, and strengthen our students' life skills. If you love chess, enjoy teaching others, and have the ability to impart good sportsmanship to youngsters, then this is the perfect job for you!

Requirements

• Some chess ability (champion level not required)
• Great attitude
• USCF rating is a plus
• Teaching/tutoring/camp counselor experience is a plus
• Ability to teach young ones that knowledge and creativity are true magic
• Sincere drive to be a positive role model and promote good sportsmanship
• Capability to drive between locations

Nice To Haves

• Experience in teaching or tutoring
• Experience as a camp counselor

Responsibilities

• Conduct interactive, friendly, and fun classes with 10-15 kids
• Encourage connections between chess problem-solving and real-life problem-solving
• Utilize Chess Wizard's curriculum and class materials creatively
• Maintain promptness and punctuality
• Drive between locations as needed
